What happens
A September 2026 Ask HN thread asked how people find skills, keep them organized and make sure they actually work. Replies described dotfiles with symlinks, private GitHub repos and company bootstrap scripts, and one said distributing company-managed skills is ‘currently awkward’. Agent Skills is an open format: a folder with a SKILL.md file holding at least a name and a description, plus optional scripts and reference files.
