What happens
On October 13, 2026 the U.P. Chief Minister transferred financial assistance of ₹493 crores to the bank accounts of 9.18 lakh farmers affected by floods, excessive rainfall, hailstorms and cyclones. During this year's monsoon alone, approximately ₹1,000 crores had already been provided to disaster-affected farmers and citizens across the State. People whose houses were damaged were given additional assistance of ₹1.20 lakh under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, separate from the crop-damage amount. The government says the assistance is paid directly to farmers' bank accounts through DBT, without middlemen.
