What happens
Two passengers can have the same waiting-list number but different chances of a confirmed berth, depending on whether the ticket is under GNWL, RLWL, PQWL or TQWL. A senior railway official said the movement of a waiting list depends on factors such as cancellations and the release of unutilised quota. Railway reservation rules place RLWL and PQWL after the General Waiting List for confirmation. The official added that this does not mean GNWL 100 is automatically better than RLWL 2.
