The province's drinking water quality summary dated July 8, 2026 lists 83 supplies under a boil water advisory, the oldest issued in 1991. From 2017 to 2022 the province averaged 191 advisories a year, affecting 146 communities and about 44,000 people. Bonavista went under a boil order on August 13, 2026.
