What happens
Rajasthan's Fertiliser Distribution Regulatory Task Force directed timely distribution of the full quantity of fertilisers allocated by the Centre for the rabi season. Action is to be taken against hoarding, black marketing, forced tagging and illegal storage of fertilisers, with 744 fertiliser inspectors deployed across the State. The State holds stocks of 3.73 lakh metric tonnes of urea, 1.04 lakh metric tonnes of DAP, 95,000 metric tonnes of nitrogen, phosphorous and potassium, and 2.09 lakh metric tonnes of single superphosphate. The Centre allocates fertilisers to the States on a month-wise and company-wise basis, and the Agriculture Department has devised district-wise plans.
