What happens
A married woman claiming reservation in Bihar teacher recruitment must submit caste, residence and non-creamy-layer certificates based on her father's permanent address, not her husband's. A woman from another state who married a Bihar resident is not treated as a Bihar native on the strength of her husband's address, and does not get the 35 per cent reservation for Bihar's native women just by marrying into the state. In July 2025 the Bihar government decided to give 35 per cent reservation in direct recruitment to government services to women who are natives of the State. On 6 October 2026 BPSC added 932 posts, raising TRE-4 vacancies from 32,388 to 33,320. Applications opened on 25 September and the last date is given as 26 October 2026; the exam date has not been announced.
