The issue says Newfoundland's CO2 intensity is much lower than the default 461 shown for its power deliveries to Nova Scotia, since supply is mostly hydro and wind. A commenter said there is no real-time data showing how much is generated on the island versus brought in from Labrador, and estimated about 76 g CO2eq/kWh for 2023 from NL Hydro's monthly report. A project member replied that a fallback mix of power sources should be added rather than a single CO2 figure. On 2026-10-09 the Public Utilities Board page listed NL Hydro's energy supply monthly reports as PDF files only; the newest, for August 2026, was filed on 2026-09-17.
