What happens
Consumer groups in four EU countries tested 162 products bought on Temu and Shein; 65% from Temu and 73% from Shein failed EU safety standards. In the toys category, all 27 products bought on Shein and 26 of 27 bought on Temu failed. When problems were reported as an ordinary consumer, the platforms replied with standard messages and took no action. Neither platform removed similar products that could pose the same risks; many comparable items stayed on sale throughout the monitoring period.
