What happens
The TTAADC stopped the salaries of its Group A and Group B officers for failing to process a former employee's pension and other retirement benefits. The former employee said his pension and retirement benefits amounting to ₹16.03 lakh were not processed after his superannuation on January 31, 2025. The council argued it could not release the amount unless the State Finance Secretary facilitated it; the State counsel said the TTAADC has its own funds and does not need the Finance Secretary's permission. The salary freeze followed a September 9 order of the High Court of Tripura seeking action until the retirement matter was resolved.
