The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) flagged online messages claiming reservoirs will dry up by the end of November as false news. The message circulating widely on WhatsApp and social media was not issued by the HMWSSB. The message said most reservoirs would run dry by the end of November, which could lead to severely limited or no water supply in Hyderabad. The Board urged the public not to believe or forward unverified messages in its name, and to get water supply information only through its official announcements and channels. The Board's official directions ban the use of hose pipes for washing vehicles, ramps or roads.
