The problem, in one line
What happens
From about October 17, 2025 both north-side elevators in Memorial's University Centre were out, one for upgrades and one from a failure, leaving four of six floors inaccessible to students who cannot use stairs. Those floors hold the accessibility centre, counselling and the student union office, and facilities said the only certified technician in the province was away. Elevator maintenance came up again at the March 2026 student union election forum.
